Preston and Lancashire warned of 48-hours of heavy rain from Monday evening

A weather warning is in place across Preston and Lancashire for heavy rain and snowmelt for Monday 18 January to Wednesday 20 January.

The warning will come into place from 6pm on Monday and will end 6pm on Wednesday evening.

The yellow warning says to expect flooding which could damage buildings.

It also says fast flowing or deep floodwater is possible during these conditions which can cause a danger to life.

Delays to public transport could be possible, including trains and bus services.

Spray and flooding could cause difficult driving conditions and some road closures and the public are advised to be careful.

Some communities may also be cut off by the flooding and possible power cuts and loss of other services may occur.
