Latest ice warning issued by Met Office for freezing start to Monday 25 January in Preston and Lancashire

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for ice across the North West and other areas of the country.

The warning is in place from midnight tonight (00:00 Monday 25 January) to 11am Monday morning.

It is thought that icy patches will cause travel disruptions in the area.

The public are told to expect some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces.

This is due to some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.

Icy patches are expected overnight onwards into Monday morning, especially where snow has fallen on Sunday.
