Preston and Lancashire are set for further icy conditions this weekend.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning from midnight tonight until 11am on Saturday (9 January).

Skies are expected to clear during the early hours of Saturday, meaning icy stretches are likely to form on untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.

The Met Office warns that the conditions may lead to some “difficult driving conditions” and there could be “some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces”.

The recent freezing weather has seen Preston Docks and Lancaster Canal both ice over.
