The majority of areas in Preston and South Ribble have seen a rise in Covid-19 cases over the last week (8 to 14 January).

The largest increases in the 22 areas where cases went up were seen in Brookfield and Holme Slack, New Longton and Hutton, and Haslam Park.

Eight areas recorded drops, including Bamber Bridge West, Walton-le-Dale, and Grimsargh and Goosnargh, while only St George’s stayed the same.

Figures are updated weekly by Public Health England in the government’s coronavirus dashboard, with an interactive map of cases

Preston’s Covid-19 infection rate is now 503 cases per 100,000 people for the seven days to 14 January, up from 417.8 for the seven days to 7 January.
