Silence proved to be golden for Rosemere Cancer Foundation after they received a donation of over £600 from carol singing that couldn’t happen.
Neighbours in Greencroft, Penwortham, usually form small groups to spread Christmas cheer with traditional house-to-house carolling in the week before Christmas, collecting donations for charity.
This is organised by Dorothy Watson and longstanding Rosemere Cancer Foundation supporter Margaret Dunn.

With in-person group singing and house visits not possible this year due to Covid-19, Dorothy and Margaret still invited the community to make donations and were overwhelmed with the response.
Margaret said: “We are delighted to be able to able to give this donation Rosemere Cancer Foundation. It shows what a lovely, community-spirited neighbourhood Greencroft is.”
