Earlier in the month, Preston Police were made aware of a number of burglaries in the Penwortham area.
Police carried out a proactive police operation involving a number of specialist resources and a man was arrested and charged.

They have reassured residents that they will continue to act on concerns raised in the communities.
John Yates, 45, of Villiers Court, Plungington, appeared at Preston Magistrate Court on 7 December charged with burglary, attempted burglary and going equipped. He was remanded to appear at Crown Court in February 2021.

Supt Karen Edwards, of South Police, said: “We’d like to thank members of the public for their support and would ask you to continue to help us by providing information relating to suspicious activity.
“The local policing team have collated all the relevant intelligence and information and worked hard in apprehending an offender.
“We will provide an ongoing police presence in the area to reassure the public and keep the community of Penwortham safe and we will continue to act on information when our communities tell us there is an issue in their area.”
