Police appeal for information about armed robbery at Ashton-on-Ribble post office

Preston police are appealing for information about an armed robbery in Ashton-on-Ribble last night (Wednesday 2 December).

Officers were called to the Post Office on Elswick Road at 5.21pm on Wednesday 2 December following reports of two males wearing balaclavas entering the premises.

They had a suspected firearm and made demands for cash.

The pair left empty-handed and escaped the scene in a grey Audi A3 which has since been found abandoned in Brook Place, Preston.

No arrests have been made yet and officers are appealing for anyone with information or CCTV/ dashcam footage that could assist the investigation to come forward.

Officers are keen to stress that it is being treated as an isolated incident at this stage and reassurance patrols have been stepped up in the area.
