Two vehicles are reported to have collided in the incident.

Eye witnesses have said the traffic is barely moving.

Major delays are being reported in the area, including along Powis Road, which is reportedly being used as a diversion route.

A spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 11:28am to reports of the RTC on Mariners Way.

“Two ambulances and a response car arrived on scene. We’ve taken one patient to hospital with minor injuries.”
