The much needed upgrade work on the Haslam Park play area has been delayed.
The park was closed in November for a complete re-vamp, with the hopes of it being re-opened before Christmas 2020.
However, signs placed on the fences around the Ashton-on-Ribble park state that the upgrade has been delayed, meaning the park will not reopen until the new year.
The reason for the delay is that the safer surfacing cannot be completed until next year.
The park will remain fenced off during the festive period as it is still a works site.
Other upgrades to the park will include refurbishing some of the existing equipment as well as some new equipment, including installation of a new space net, double bump slide, nest swing and a mini trampoline.
