A 16-year-old boy who was stabbed in Deepdale has died from his injuries.
The teenager, named locally as Sarmad Al Saidi, from Broadgate, was rushed to hospital after suffering serious leg and chest injuries at a house in Chatham Place, off St Gregory’s Road, on December 23.
Police have confirmed the youngster sadly died last night (December 27).
A picture has been released of Sarmad as police confirmed murder charges had now been brought.
Preston Muslim Burial Society tweeted the 16-year-old had died during Sunday evening.
Leader of Preston City Council, councillor Matthew Brown, has also paid tribute.
Following the attack, police charged an 18-year-old man from Leyland and two teenagers from Preston with attempted murder.
All three will now be charged with Sarmed’s murder.
