Remembrance Sunday was marked in the midst of the Covid pandemic with virtual services and social distancing.
Both Preston City Council and South Ribble Borough Council offered an online way to mark the event.
A small service still took place on the Flag Market in Preston city centre in front of the city’s Cenotaph.
Social distancing was observed throughout the small-scale service.
The city council had also pre-recorded a fuller Remembrance service which was released on the city counci’s YouTube channel early on Sunday (8 November morning). You can watch the service below.
At 10.50am, the South Ribble Borough Council virtual Remembrance service went live on Facebook, allowing those across the borough to join in paying their respect. You can watch the clip below.
The war memorials at Leyland and Lostock Hall were also both lit red during Sunday evening.
In Fulwood the gates of the Harris Park were opened up to allow those in the suburb to pay their respects at the Fulwood war memorial.

Elsewhere churches and memorials were showing poppy displays to pay their respects to the fallen.
