Radiotherapy Physicists Shelley Taylor and Colin Jennings ran its whole 21 miles and a group of individual walkers and runners helped achieve a departmental total of 73 miles or 3.5 full turns of the wheel.
Shelley said: “I found myself running a lot during the first lockdown and one day, came up with the crazy idea of running all the way round the Guild Wheel. When I mentioned it to colleagues, others seemed keen to get involved, and before I knew it, we had formed a Radiotherapy Department team.

“Our original plan was for us to run, cycle and walk the Wheel together with a celebration afterwards but further coronavirus pandemic restrictions made it impossible.
“It looked as though we wouldn’t be able to do much so I’m really pleased we achieved the mileage we did and we hope to get together to repeat the challenge as we had intended next year.
“We are very grateful to everyone who sponsored us, as well as to family and friends for their support.”
