Let’s Grow Preston is a community environmental charity working across Preston.

They work from their headquarters in Ashton Walled Garden, and their site at Grange Community gardens.

They help community gardens and community gardeners by providing workshops, resources, plants, seeds, insurance and other bureaucratic requirements.

They believe that volunteering can greatly improve mental and physical wellbeing.

They are continuing to offer this support, but they are looking to take the next step and increase the work they do across Preston, and they want to know what you want them to do for the community.

Let’s Grow Preston want to know what you want them to do next to improve Preston’s green spaces. The team working pre-pandemic.

In Preston residents are lucky to have lots of community environmental groups and activities, such as community gardens, food growing projects as well as groups that focus on improving woodlands or parks.

There are many small projects that focus on small areas like local flowerbeds or larger areas such as extensive wildflower meadows.

All of these groups and activities have one thing in common, they are all managed and run by small teams of dedicated volunteers that give up their own time to help improve their neighbourhood.

Let’s Grow Preston helps to support these groups by providing a network where they can meet, share skills, ideas and resources.

In 2019, Let’s Grow Preston held three events across the city to find out which green space improvements people wanted to see in their area.

They now want to see what people think of the ideas that came out of these meetings, and see if people have any specific ideas or locations for implementing them.
