The former Sharoe Green House neuro-rehabilitation centre, which was turned into a community centre in 2015, has seen a further planning application submitted.

The community centre is subject to a planning application submitted for the building to be turned into an education centre.

The current building which is opposite the Masjid-e-Salaam mosque is set to be demolished and turned into an Islamic school.

Planning applications have not yet been approved but changes such as it being renovated into a three-story building with 44 new car parking spaces have been suggested, taking the total to 104.

The site is located within Fulwood and is situated on Watling Street Road, which is a primary route running east to west through Fulwood.

The proposal will consist of the demolition of the existing community centre and its replacement with a purpose-built three-storey facility of 2,874 sqm floorspace across all storeys.

The existing building is approximately 1,200 sqm with facilities provided across only a single storey.

The ground floor would be a nursery, hall space and catering area and classroom facilities, whilst the first floor will provide additional hall space and classrooms, with further classrooms on the second floor.
