Mass rapid coronavirus testing is to be rolled out across Preston and South Ribble.
This comes after Health secretary Matt Hancock spoke in the House of Commons telling MPs that he had written to directors of public health across the country over providing them with kits to test ten per cent of the population per week.
Mr Hancock said that 10,000 tests would be made available to each area with the aim of being able to test asymptomatic people.

The new lateral flow tests have a turnaround time of under an hour.
All Lancashire County County areas will be included.

Areas to receive mass testing have been prioritised as to how severely affected they have been by coronavirus cases.
