M55 traffic begins to ease after crash involving up to 10 vehicles between Kirkham and Broughton

The M55 was blocked due to a multiple vehicle crash.

Traffic has been held within the M55 eastbound junction one, Garstang to Broughton interchange.

It is thought that the crash was caused by a large spillage in the carriageway.

Traffic is starting to be released through the incident which took place shortly before 9am on Monday (30 November).

Traffic between junction three and junction one will be diverted off at junction one.

All other traffic heading eastbound will be diverted at junction three.

A spokesperson from Lancashire police said: “We’ve only got basic details at the moment – looks to have happened around 9am and involved multiple vehicles.

“No report on any injuries at the moment.”
