Large knife seized by police in Leyland after being discovered by member of the public

The knife was recovered by South Ribble Police officers

A large knife was recovered by Neighbourhood Officers in Leyland as part of Operation Sceptre.


The knife was located by a concerned member of the public – it had been hidden and packaged for collection.

The knife has been seized by South Ribble Police officers and has been sent for destruction.

The community are reminded there are knife bins located outside Leyland Police Station and on the car park at Kingsfold Community Centre.

There is a weapons amnesty running this week (w/c 9 November) meaning knives and weapons can be dropped off at the locations above anonymously and without repercussions.
