The Property developer Pillars, has been granted full planning permission for 294 luxurious residential apartments with underground parking.
The new development called PR1 is located in Preston City Centre on Avenham Street and will see the transformation of the area into four luxury residential apartment towers.
The apartment towers will range from seven to 17 storeys high.

A Pillars spokesperson said: “Our PR1 project will bring in a lot of investment and jobs back to the city, which are currently being lost to other nearby cities.
“After a lot of research, we chose a design that maximised the site’s potential and greatly contributing to the urban regeneration of Preston City Centre.
“We would like to thank the council and David Cox Architects for sharing the same vision as us on fulfilling a pledge that the City Centre has been so thirsty for.”
The site is currently being used as a car park and will form part of the masterplan.

Councillor Peter Moss, Cabinet member for planning and regulation, said: “It’s great to see ambitious city centre developments put before the council, and the unanimous approval of Committee members is recognition of the potential of growth available in Preston, even in these challenging times.
“The development aligns with our award-winning City Living Strategy which champions the best of modern city living and is stimulating a thriving city centre housing market.
“The delivery of this vision will not only boost the city’s supply of new homes but will also add to the growing list of investments coming forward as part of the Stoneygate regeneration framework.”
The one and two bedroom apartments will feature a courtyard, penthouse suites, 24/7 concierge, gym facilities, underground parking and a private rooftop terrace overlooking Preston’s skyline.

PR1 is one of many developments in Lancashire, being constructed by Pillars as part of their housing development plan to deliver 1,500 homes by 2025.
The proposals for the Avenham Street PR1 scheme were approved in early November by the city council’s planning committee.
