A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of causing life-changing injuries to a boy in Leyland.
The incident happened on October 10 at 4pm when the victim was buying sweets at the newsagents on Wigan Road.
He was approached by a stranger, unprovoked, who began to punch him in the mouth.
The boy suffered a fractured jaw as a result and has also lost several teeth.
The 17-year-old from Chorley has since been released by South Ribble Police pending further investigation.
