Storm Alex to bring heavy rain to Preston and South Ribble over the weekend

Yellow weather warnings are in place for Preston over the weekend as Storm Alex is expected to bring heavy wind and rain to the UK.

According to the Met Office, heavy rain may bring some flooding leading to transport disruption.

A yellow weather warning means, homes and businesses could be flooded, fast flowing and deep floodwater is possible, delays and cancellations of public transport services and driving conditions might be difficult.

Rain is expected to start in the early hours of Saturday morning and continue on until Sunday.

Storm Alex has been working its way through France and has hit the south of the UK today (Friday 2 October), causing power outages and disruption.
