Penwortham artist Shiryn Wynter is branching out with a gallery space in St George’s Shopping Centre.
Shiryn, who is in her second year of a Masters Degree in Fine Art at UCLan, opened Shiryn Wynter Art last Wednesday (7 October).
She decided to open the store after Covid-19 put paid to her previously forthcoming projects.
Shiryn said: “I have decided to open up now due to the Covid-19 restrictions placed on everyone.
“I have a lot more time on my hands as all my projects, exhibitions and workshops have been cancelled, and I won’t be back at university until next year.
“I also have another business called Getmessy – a children’s art workshop – that hasn’t been able to operate since February.
“In addition, most galleries aren’t taking new artists on because of the current circumstances. So because of all this I have taken selling my art into my own hands!”

Shiryn will be running the shop and says she will be there most days.
As well as selling her original art, Shiryn is stocking accessories including jewellery, mirrors, keyrings and tote bags.
Shiryn said: “The shop is aimed at anyone who loves uplifting art and would like something unique and original for their homes.
“I hope to engage a wider audience and bring some positivity and colour into a stressful time.”
