Police are calling for any motorists travelling between Preston and Southport to get in touch after a motorcyclist remains in a serious condition after a crash.
AdvertisementA 74-year-old man was taken to Royal Preston Hospital after coming off his bike and colliding with the back of a flatbed truck.
The crash took place on the A565 Southport New Road in Mere Brow at around 2.55pm on Friday (23 October).
The rider of the Triumph motorcycle was attempting to overtake two vehicles, heading in the direction of Preston, close to the junction with Moss Hey Lane.
Police say he crashed into the kerb, came off his bike and hit the flatbed truck.
He remains in RPH in a ‘serious condition’.

Sergeant Lee Harris said: “Sadly, the motorcyclist is still very poorly in hospital and my thoughts remain with him and his family at this difficult time.
“We need anyone who was travelling along the road and saw what happened during this incident to get in contact, as it’s important that we understand how and why it occurred.”
