Man arrested for throwing slate at police officer in Ashton-on-Ribble street

A 46-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of police assault and ABH.

Police were called to reports of a man behaving in a threating manner Bulmer Street, Ashton at 11.25am yesterday (Monday 5 October).

A police spokeswoman confirmed officers attended the scene where the man assaulted an officer, before going to a nearby alleyway, picking up a slate and throwing it at a second officer.

The man remains in police custody.

A video from the public showed there were fifteen vehicles at the scene.
