Lit fireworks put through letterboxes in Ribbleton

A woman was hit by a firework during random attacks on four properties in Ribbleton during Sunday (11 October) evening.

Preston Fire Station sent crews to the Brookfield area.

Firefighters said ‘a lit firework was shoved through several letterboxes in the Brookfield area’.

The incident has been branded as ‘reckless’ by fire crews and four separate properties were targeted.

One woman was hit by a firework during the incident.

In a tweet, Preston Fire Station’s crew, said: “Police also responded to investigate and look for the people responsible.

“If those who did it would like to own up we are happy to show them a more suitable place where a firework could be shoved!”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101.
