A crackdown by police on anti-social behaviour and organised crime in Preston has yieled a number of arrests and seized property.
Preston Police began Operation Edge on Thursday (1 October) with patrols stepped up in Larches, Savick, Ashton-on-Ribble, Broadgate and Plungington.
During Friday (2 October) evening a hammer and knuckle duster were seized in the city.
A quantity of class A and class B drugs were seized, along with a large quantity of nitrous oxide canisters.
A police spokesman said: “These canisters are legal to have in small quantities for personal possession, however they are illegal to have in such large quantities for supply.”
The drugs and weapons were uncovered by police using stop and search powers.
Police said their Operation Edge patrols during Friday (2 October) also saw two further arrests in relation to a public order incident in Fishergate Hill, which took place on 18 September and involved a machete.

Leyland has also been added to the areas where police are stepping up patrols to tackle anti-social behaviour.
Police said: “We will continue to target violent crime and we need you to continue to report such activity for example knife crime and drug dealing in your area to us.”
