Digital platform launches for Preston and South Ribble Flood Risk scheme
Residents of Preston and South Ribble now have access to a new online platform to attend virtual meetings, access information and provide feedback on their proposed flood risk management scheme.
The £49m proposed scheme, which is expected to start construction in 2021, will reduce the risk of flooding to around 4,800 properties.

Hilarious reactions as Bushman prankster terrifies passers-by in Preston city centre
A person dressed as a bush has been giving Preston shoppers a fright.
The camouflaged ‘Bushman’ prankster has been spotted in the city centre on more than one occasion over the past few weeks.
On Sunday (27 September), Bushman was waiting for victims outside St George’s Shopping Centre in Fishergate.

Vegan aisle coming to Asda in Fulwood
Asda Fulwood is set to gain an aisle dedicated entirely to plant-based products.
Asda recently announced it would become the first UK supermarket to launch a vegan-only aisle.
A spokesperson for Asda Fulwood has since confirmed the store in Eastway will go live with the aisle around Monday 19 October.
‘Someone has it in for me’- suspected arson attack in Ashton
The owner of The iLashed Academy is offering a £1,000 cash reward after a suspected arson attack at her Lane Ends premises.
20-year-old Imogen Southwood from Fulwood posted on social media about the incident, which took place yesterday (Sunday 27 September) at around midnight.
It’s the second time there has been a fire at the academy in Blackpool Road since it opened last year.
Tributes as Preston’s Spud Man dies
Preston’s ‘Spud Man’ Keith Roberts has died.
Popular Keith ran The Hot Potato Tram serving spuds and parched peas on the Flag Market.
Tributes have flooded in for the father-of-four.
