Sarah Smith-Sergeant, who founded Breathe Education, a school yoga specialist is encouraging children to get involved.
Sarah is urging schools across Lancashire to get involved in a range of courses to help children and teachers in primary and secondary schools to build resilience against the stress of everyday life.
Sessions for children are designed to fit in with the National Curriculum and the promotion of ‘Positive Mental Health and Wellbeing‘, a new element that was introduced last year.

Teacher sessions are also available on inset days and after school.
As well as being a secondary school teacher for more than 20 years, Sarah has also practiced yoga throughout this time and is a Yoga Alliance qualified teacher.
Sarah said: “I’ve experienced the stresses and strains that juggling a teaching career while raising a young family brings.
“Practicing mindfulness and yoga was absolutely invaluable to me during this time. I could tell I was burning out and using these techniques more frequently really help me cope.”
She added: “Sadly, many of our children, young people and school staff have experienced loss, trauma or additional stress during the pandemic.
“Mindfulness and yoga does not take those experiences away, but it helps us by giving us the tools and strategies for navigating hard times.”
In support of World Mental Health Day, Breathe Education is offering three Lancashire schools the opportunity of a free online session to help support the wellbeing of their staff during the 2020/21 academic year.
To enter the schools need to get in touch with Breathe Education and the first three schools to make contact will be offered one free online session each.
The closing date is Wednesday 14 October 2020 at 12 noon.
