Update: the man has been identified
AdvertisementPolice are appealing for information to help identify a man found unconscious in Deepdale today (Saturday 10 October).
Police were called at around 10am to a report a man had been found unresponsive at the rear of Lookers Volkswagen Garage in Blackpool Road.
The man was taken to Royal Preston Hospital and is in a critical condition undergoing treatment. At this time the incident is being treated as unexplained.
The man is described as white, 35 to 45 years old, of medium build with a black liver bird tattoo on his right leg.
He was wearing grey Everlast tracksuit bottoms, a white and grey England football top, a grey and black Everlast hooded top, a black jacket with fur trim hood, white and blue stripped socks and blue and white Asics trainers with an orange sole. He was carrying a blue and black ‘No Fear’ rucksack.
Detectives are appealing for information and urging anyone who knows the man to come forward as soon as possible.
Det Insp Paul Whitehead of Preston Police said: “We are urging anyone who recognises the man described to come forward immediately.
“Despite conducting a number of enquiries we do not know who he is.
“He is currently in a critical condition at hospital and we want to contact his family.
“At this stage the incident is being treated as unexplained. If you saw anything unusual in the area around the time the man was found please come forward.
“Please get in touch if you can help us.”
