Preston is included in the government’s latest changes to local coronavirus restrictions.
From Tuesday 8 September at 12.01am, soft play areas can lawfully reopen.
Remaining restrictions on treatments on the face, such as eyebrow threading or make up application, will be lifted.
Socially distanced indoor performances will also be able to resume.
Despite these changes, the ban on two households mixing indoors will continue.
Dr Sakthi Karunanithi, Director of Public Health for Lancashire, said: “This further easing of the restrictions is due to the hard work of local people, businesses and local organisations who have all worked to bring down the rates of infection.
“If your area has seen restrictions lifted, it’s still really important to follow the guidance and keep the cases down. This way you can avoid further restrictions coming back again in the future.
“To maintain this good progress, it is important local residents continue to wear face coverings where necessary, practise good hygiene and adhere to national social distancing rules.”
