Work is underway to demolish the office block on the site of the historic Park Hotel.
The 1960s building in East Cliff, which overlooks the railway line, will be replaced with a brand new structure providing conference and office facilities.
The work is part of plans to redevelop the former Park Hotel building and return it to its original Victorian use as a hotel. The multi-million pound refurbishment will include a spa and a banqueting pavilion overlooking Miller Park.
In 2016 the future of the building was secured when Lancashire County Council sold the Park Hotel to the Local Pensions Partnership, a collaboration between the county council and the London Pensions Fund Authority.
A spokesperson for the Lancashire County Pension Fund said: “We look forward to being able to announce more details in the future about the plans.”
