Preston Police busy with lockdown breaches

Preston Police attended a series of reported lockdown restriction breaches on Friday 21 August.

Reports included large house parties in private homes despite the lockdown restrictions stating no indoor mixing of households.

Some individuals were issued with £100 fixed penalty notices as a result of flouting the rules.

Preston Police are urging locals to follow rules due to the city being subject to government intervention as a result of higher rates of coronavirus than the national average.

Preston entered a stricter local lockdown Friday 7 August. The following restrictions currently apply:

  • Residents are not able to host others in their homes or gardens
  • Residents are not be able to visit other people’s homes or gardens, in or out of the affected area
  • Residents are not able to interact with others from outside of their household in indoor venues
  • Residents can only meet in groups of up to six from different households in public outdoor spaces
