Ashton youth theatre group Kidz4Kidz is fundraising with a new virtual show.
Kidz4Kidz usually raises money to help a local child in need, but this time the group’s aim is to collect enough funds to survive to celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2021.
A spokesperson for Kidz4Kidz said: “We are paying our costs without income at the moment, and once we’re allowed back we will need to have certain measures in place such as the size of rehearsal rooms, floor markings, and cleaning equipment.
“Next summer is our 20 year show – 20 years of community spirit, of volunteers, parents, and children pulling together to make events happen. We really want this to happen in a good sized theatre.
“We are also aware that we may need to book a theatre for more than one night to accommodate our usual audience numbers over a few nights instead – same income, higher outgoings.”
The last Kidz4Kidz show raised over £2,000 for youngster Miley Harris’ wheelchair equipment. The money was raised from the show, donations, a raffle, and sponsors.
The Kidz4Kidz virtual show, The Musicals, will be broadcast on Twitch on Saturday 22 August from 7.30pm. There will be a pre-show musical film quiz from 7pm to 7.30pm.
A raffle will run alongside the virtual show, and will be drawn live at the end of the evening.
