Police are appealing for witnesses after a gun was fired twice in Deepdale.
Police were called at around 3.30pm yesterday (Sunday 30 August) to reports the firearm, believed to be a shotgun, had been discharged twice in Elcho Street. No-one was injured.
Three men wearing balaclavas were later witnessed making off from the scene in a silver Land Rover in the direction of Garstang Road.
Detectives are appealing for information and are particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw the weapon being discharged.
Det Insp Chris Wellard, of Lancashire Police, said: “We are appealing for information following a firearms discharge in Preston.
“The weapon, believed to be a shotgun, is thought to have been discharged from within a silver Land Rover, which had three men on board.
“We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw the gun being fired. If you saw what happened, or anyone acting suspiciously in the Elcho Street area, please come forward.
“Incidents of this nature are extremely rare, the police take them very seriously and we have a dedicated team of detectives working on the investigation.”
