A soldier whose Afghanistan service medal was stolen from his car in Deepdale has been reunited with the accolade after a friend spotted an appeal to find it.
AdvertisementCade Alexander was devastated when the medal was stolen from his vehicle in St George’s Road on DAY, along with a par of colour blind glasses and a number of items of clothing.
But after seeing the appeal on Blog Preston, a friend of a friend was able to reunite Cade with his treasured medal on Sunday.
Cade, who serves with the Rifles regiment, said: “I don’t know where it was found but I am so happy to have it back.
“Luckily the person who found it had seen the press coverage and realised it must me mine.
“It has a lot of sentimental value to me. The other items are still missing but the medal was irreplaceable.”

After seeing the story, Jez Levy of Eyes on St Albans offered to replace the colourblind glasses.
He said: “Whilst we are unable to assist with finding the medals, EnChroma and I would be delighted to gift a replacement pair of EnChroma Colourblind glasses as some compensation for his losses.”
Cade said: “Thank you so much to everyone who has helped me with this. I am really grateful.”
