A Preston woman has shaved her head to raise money for charity after losing three family members to cancer.
AdvertisementAlexandra Kiss’s uncle, grandmother, and mother-in-law have all died from the disease. Not only that, but Alexandra’s mum has survived cancer four times.
Alexandra, who moved to the New Hall Lane area from Romania six years ago, did the charity head shave to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
She said: “My mum had her last operation three years ago. She ended up with a severe lymphatic problem, and she is unable to use her right arm.
“I thought that joining this campaign would be such a small effort for me and such a big help for those who suffer. I did not do it only for my mum, but for all people that could benefit from support.
“I know that Macmillian offers so much support to those with cancer, but with the Covid situation it is getting more difficult for people to help charities as we all need to keep the social distancing.
“Macmillan does fantastic work in helping those in need and I think that they deserve all the help they can get.”
