Firearms officers take to Preston streets as part of training exercise

Lancashire Police Constabulary have issued a public warning to notify Preston residents of a training exercise that is taking place today (July 6).

Firearms officers will be seen around the city taking part in the exercise.

While they will be dressed in plain clothing, officers will be identifiable as they will be wearing police caps.

The routine training will begin in Preston city centre but could see officers moving anywhere across the west and north of the county.

Members of the public should not be alarmed by the presence of the officers and are welcome to greet them should they see be seen in passing.
