Aldi Foodstore in Deepdale is set to be demolished to make way for a larger premises.
The plans were approved by the council this week which will see an extra 337m² of space added to the site.
The popular discount food store on Blackpool Road will increase the size of the building from 1386m² to 1723m².

The sales space will benefit from this rebuild with the customer area gaining an extra 272 square foot, an increase from 982m² to 1254m² of sales space.
The car park will also increase parking from 99 to 105 cars which will include eight disabled bays, nine parent and child bays and two electric car charging spots.

Much of the previous ground space for the site will be used with little to no changes to the landscaping around the new site.
More shrubs are to be planted whilst keeping the tree and grassland areas around the new building.

The planning application was accepted with conditions by Preston City Council on Monday (July 13).
