Work has resumed on the Shankly Hotel in Preston city centre.
AdvertisementOver the past few days a crane has appeared at the site between Market Street and Birley Street.
Progress at the former Post Office building had ground to a halt in recent months, during which time the publicised Autumn 2019 opening date was missed.
There have been various reports of financial trouble for parent company, Signature Living Group, with the latest coming in April as sister hotel The Shankly Hotel in Liverpool went into administration.

Blog Preston has contacted the Shankly for an update on progress and details of the planned opening, but did not receive a response by time of publication.
A spokesperson for Preston City Council said: “We’re really pleased to see that work has started up again.”
The £15million hotel is due to have space for 350 guests, a restaurant and a rooftop function space.
The grade-II listed building was sold to the Signature group by Preston City Council in 2016.
