Firefighters are asking for the public’s help to protect beauty spots after two major incidents last month.
AdvertisementThis week is set to see temperatures soar to up to 28 degrees celsius towards the end of the week, sending members of the public out in search of a sunny spot to enjoy it.
LFRS is calling for an end to the use of disposable BBQs in parks, woodland, countryside and sand dunes.
To help their campaign, officers are asking Lancashire celebrities and members of the public to record a short video clip saying why the countryside is important, and no to disposable BBQs.

A spokesperson said: “On the 31 May LFRS had to declare a major incident due to two separate wildfire incidents having an impact on our resources. Both incidents were thought to have been caused by BBQs and campfires.
“In hot and dry conditions BBQs, campfires and cigarettes can quickly ignite and spread and damage miles and miles of our moorlands and forests leaving lots of devastation and firefighters working to extinguishing the flames.
“We’re trying to put an end to disposable BBQs being used in our countryside, forests, parks and sand dunes.”
To take part in the campaign, please send your clip in via the email address communications@lancsfirerescue.org.uk . A film willbe produced ready for the return of the nice weather.
Please note that by people sending in their clip they agree to LFRS using it in their marketing campaign.
