Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS FoundationTrust, which operates Royal Preston and Chorley hospitals, has reported five deaths from coronavirus today (Friday June 19).
AdvertisementFour people died from Covid-19 on June 14 and one person died on June 13.
It is the highest number of deaths reported by any NHS Trust in England and Wales today.
The total number of people to have died from the virus at Royal Preston and Chorley Hospitals is now 235.
Latest figures from the Government show there have been no new cases of coronavirus confirmed in Preston in the last 24 hours, with the total number remaining at 478 cases.
The infection rate is now 337 per 100,000 people in the city.

South Ribble has seen three case confirmed, bringing the total to 279. The infection rate in the borough is now 252.4 per 100,000.
Chorley has not seen just any new cases confirmed and has a total of 361 cases. The infection rate remains at 309 per 100,000.
Across Lancashire there are now 3,815 confirmed cases of the virus – an increase of seven. The infection rate has risen to 315.3 per 100,000 people.
