RAF plane spotted above Preston in unexpected flyover

Preston residents were treated with an unexpected flyover today (June 22) by an RAF aircraft.

The A400M Atlas aircraft flew over the city several times this morning to the delight of many Prestonians.

The aircraft was very low flying and loud as it passed over the city, with many people able to get some great photos and videos.

RAF Brize Norton said on Twitter that the aircraft was in the skies this morning over Blackpool and Newcastle as part of a routine exercise, but no mention was made that Preston would see the flyover.

The aircraft was spotted over the city centre, Ashton-on-Ribble, Fulwood and Cottam.
