No deaths reported as just two new cases of coronavirus confirmed in Preston, South Ribble and Chorley on Monday June 15

No new deaths from coronavirus have been recorded at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Royal Preston and Chorley Hospitals.

It is the second day running the trust has recorded no new fatalities from the virus, although it can take a few days for deaths to be formally registered.

Government figures released today show there are no new cases of coronavirus in the city, with the figure remaining at 476 confirmed cases – an infection rate of 335.6 per 100,000 people.

South Ribble has seen just one case confirmed, bringing the total to 272. The infection rate in the borough is now 246.1 per 100,000.

Chorley has also seen just one new confirmed case of covid-19 and now has 360 confirmed cases. The infection rate remains at 308.2 per 100,000.

Across Lancashire, eight new cases have been confirmed. There are now 3,792 confirmed cases of the virus. The infection rate has risen to 313.4 per 100,000 people.
