Firefighters rescued three teenage boys who were stuck under a bridge in Avenham Park

Firefighters were called in to rescue three teenage boys who were stuck on a plinth under the old railway bridge on Avenham Park.

Crews from Penwortham, Preston and Chorley went to the park at 7.45pm on Monday June 15 after reports the youngsters could not get down.

An aerial platform as used to bring the boys to safety.

Passers by stopped on the bridge to watch the 35 minute rescue operation.

It is not known how the boys got on the plinth, but no-one was injured.
