One kind-hearted Leyland man has been helping firefighters tackle their thirst and hunger while tackling moorland and woodland fires.
Phil Manning has set up a fundraiser to ensure fire crews are kept well stocked with bottled water and provisions while up Longridge Fell and Darwen Moor.
Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service has been stretched across both sites since Saturday for Darwen Moor and Sunday for Longridge Fell, working to contain the flames.

Mr Manning is a member of the sailing club at Belmont and they saw the fire during Saturday (30 May) on Darwen Moor.
He said: “I saw the fire and we did a dash to Asda just before closing to get 10 cases of bottled water.
“We took them up to the fire crews at the car park near Tockholes and passed them on.
“They were incredibly pleased and dived straight into it.
“We did the same on Sunday for the lads at Longridge Fell too.
“I did these ones out of my own pocket and I’ve seen posts on social media asking how people can help, so I thought I would set up the fundraiser.”
Phil has so far raised more than £400 to buy food and drink to help the firefighters through his Justgiving page.
