Crews have been tackling the fire since just before 2pm on Sunday (May 31).

Five fire engines remained overnight at Old Clitheroe Road at Dutton, near Preston, during Sunday night.

Aerial footage released by the fire service gives an indication of the scale of the fire they face at Dutton.

Full-scale efforts to tackle the fire have resumed at first-light with the number of fire engines at the scene being increased to 10.

Meanwhile a video briefing released late on Sunday night gave an update on how firefighters have been tackling the fires.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service also remained committed, along with crews from Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, at tackling a moorland fire at Darwen Moor.

Both wildlifes are understood to have been caused by barbecues becoming out of control.
