Police arrested two people from the Midlands attempting to fly drugs into a prison in Leyland.

Lancashire Police used their drone operations team to help locate people hiding in hedges after they were spotted close to HMP Wymott on Sunday evening.

Around midnight on Sunday (May 10) officers spotted a parked Toyota CHR.

Police say as they approached the vehicle two people ran off and were arrested following a police chase and the use of the drone team.

A woman aged 44 from Nottinghamshire was arrested on suspicion of Possession of a Class B Drug with intent to supply and a 16-year-old boy from Staffordshire was arrested on suspicion of Possession of a Class B Drug with intent to supply and car theft.

Police have recovered from the Toyota a quantity of drugs, suspected to be cannabis, a number of mobile phones and a drone.
