No new deaths from coronavirus recorded on Sunday May 17 in Preston and South Ribble

No deaths from coronavirus have been reported from Royal Preston and Chorley Hospitals today (Sunday May 17).

Figures released by the NHS show the total number of people to have died from the virus at the two hospitals run by Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust remains at 175.

In Preston, five more cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed, bringing the total to 382. The infection rate is now 269.4 per 100,000 people.

South Ribble now has 221 confirmed cases after another case was confirmed today. The infection rate is now 200 per 100,000 people.

Across Lancashire there are now 3,340 confirmed cases of the virus, with an infection rate of 276 per 100,000.
