A snap of an abandoned orphanage in Preston city centre appears to show a child’s face at a window.
Leonie Thomas was out walking with her son during Sunday (May 24) in Avenham Park when they decided to carry on to the former St Joseph’s Orphanage.
The site is fenced off, ahead of a major redevelopment scheme, but Leonie, from Pewnortham, said she had been reading up on the history of the building and wanted to get a few pictures.
The 33-year-old told Blog Preston: “We didn’t notice anything while we were out walking.
“It was only when I got back home and posted the pictures onto Facebook that one of my friends commented and said ‘what the f*** is that?’.
“I zoomed in and saw what could be a face in the window.
“Don’t get me wrong it could be a pigeon but I don’t recall seeing a pigeon when we were looking.”
Leonie says they were looking at the tower at St Joseph’s for between five to 10 minutes.
She said: “I had thought about returning at some point and trying to get inside to see if there really is any paranormal activity.
“But after seeing these pictures I’m keeping well away and leaving whatever is in there to it’s own devices.”

The former orphanage and Mount Street hospital is set for a new lease of life as three apartment blocks, along with 10 new townhouses.
Five of the buildings at St Joseph’s, which is grade-II listed, will be demolished under the multi-million pound regeneration scheme from Czero Developments.
