Firefighters stop fire at Plungington car garage from spreading

Plungington Road was closed off during Friday afternoon as firefighters tackled a fire at a car garage.

The fire broke out shortly after 3pm between Robinson Street and the Lytham Road roundabout.

Preston Police were in attendance as Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service sent four crews from Penwortham, Fulwood, Bamber Bridge and Preston to the fire in Plungington.

Signage at the front of the car garage had caught light.

Crews were on the scene for around 1 hour and 50 minutes.

They used thermal imaging kit to check the fire had not spread further.
