Firefighters called to rubbish blaze near houses in Ribbleton

Firefighters were called to fly tipping which was on fire in Ribbleton

Crews from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service tackled a large rubbish blaze close to houses in Ribbleton last night.

Firefighters were called in to extinguish the blaze in undergrowth on the old Preston to Longridge railway line.

The fire was burning next to a ginnel in close proximity to houses in Sion Close and Garsdale Road.

A LFRS spokesperson said: “Earlier this evening @Preston_Fire attended a large fly-tipped rubbish fire in undergrowth.

“The photo shows the close proximity through the ginnel to occupied houses. Irresponsible actions potentially creating danger for properties and people. Don’t flytip.”
